Smoky Mountain Forests & Communities: History & Resiliency
Brian Roberts serves as the Supervisory Forester for the National Park Service, leading the forest and vegetation management team at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With more than 23 years of experience in both private and public sectors of forestry and wildlife refuge management, he is the senior principal advisor on forestry and ecological forest management within the park. His previous roles include positions as a forester with Tennessee Timber Consultants, Indiana Hardwoods, and the United States Fish & Wildlife Service. Before joining the Great Smoky Mountains team last year, Brian spent a decade as the Wildlife Refuge Manager at Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry-Resource Management, with a minor in Wildlife and Fisheries Management, from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
