Smoky Mountain Forests & Communities: History & Resiliency
Jesse Webster is a Forester for the National Park Service with the forest and vegetation management team at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With more than 20 years of experience in the Smokies, he focuses on developing and implementing programs to protect the park’s forest resources, Appalachian grassy balds and native grass fields. Jesse also serves as a technical advisor in forestry matters including forest insects, forest diseases, nonnative plants and ecosystem restoration. Jesse has also worked with various resource management agencies throughout his career, such as the Tennessee Valley Authority, Tennessee Division of Forestry, and The Nature Conservancy in North Dakota and Alabama. Jesse holds a Master’s degree in Entomology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a Bachelor of Science from Evergreen State College in Washington State.
